Notes — Preface locator (printed page 455)
As printed: “Chapter begins on page xxiv.”
Correction: The Preface begins on page xxv. Page xxiv is blank.
The notes themselves are correctly numbered and belong with the Preface text that starts on page xxv. If you turn to xxiv from the Notes section, turn one more leaf.
Items noted for a later printing
These are not mistakes that affect meaning. They are recorded so that readers who notice them do not need to write in, and so that a future printing can tidy them if the interior is reset.
Author biographies (page xxvii). Julian Talbot’s biography uses the American spelling “Defense.” Jason Brown’s biography correctly uses “Defence” in the official name Australian Department of Defence. Australian English is intended throughout.
Notes introduction (page 455). The sentence “In the digital edition, select a superscript to open its note…” describes an ebook behaviour. It does not apply to this paperback. In print, notes are collected at the back of the book, grouped by chapter.
“Other books” (page 493). Title capitalisation is inconsistent from line to line (for example SRMBOK Guide To The 30-Day Risk Assessment and From Strategy To Action). The titles and ISBNs given are usable as printed.
Abbreviations — ALARM (page 451). ALARM is described as “a professional membership association supporting risk management practitioners.” That is accurate as a description. The organisation is the UK public-sector risk association historically known as The National Forum for Risk Management in the Public Sector.
Citation style in Notes (pages 455–490). Entries are complete enough to locate the source. Punctuation, italicisation, and access-date style vary between entries. Treat the Notes as a working source list, not as a single house style specimen.
